Foldprint

A paper-and-ink fold puzzle for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Stamp wet ink on one half of a sheet, fold it along the crease, and the ink prints onto the other half. Every level shows the print both halves need to match. Plan which ink is still wet when you press, because a fold prints everything wet, both ways at once, and then the sheet is dry.

To fold, use the Fold button, pinch the two halves together on iPhone and iPad, or press Space on a Mac. On iPhone Duo the crease sits on the phone's own fold, so closing the phone makes the press.

Questions

How do I fold?

Press Fold on the level screen. On iPhone and iPad you can also pinch the two halves together with two fingers. On iPhone Duo, closing the phone presses the print too. To turn that off, switch off Press when I close my iPhone in Foldprint's Settings. On a Mac, or an iPad with a keyboard, press Space (on the Mac also Game → Fold, ⌘Return). Help → Keyboard Shortcuts on the Mac lists every key.

What's free, and what do the purchases add?

Free: all of chapter 1 (15 prints) and each day's Daily Print, on its day, with no ads. The free part never expires.

Foldprint Complete is a one-time purchase: chapters 2 to 8, the Creator and the Cotton, Newsprint and Washi papers. It covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Pressroom Pass is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly (the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial). It adds ten new prints every week and the full Daily Print archive with your past results. You don't need it for the chapters or for today's Daily Print. Family Sharing works with both.

How do I restore my purchases?
  1. Check that you're signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.
  2. In Foldprint, open Settings and choose Restore Purchases. The purchase screen has a Restore button as well.

Your purchases then work on every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to that Apple Account, and for your Family Sharing group.

How do I cancel the Pressroom Pass?

On iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Foldprint, then Cancel Subscription.

On a Mac: open the App Store app, click your name, then Account Settings, and find Subscriptions.

Subscribers also get a Manage Subscription button in the app's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the Pass renews or the free trial ends, or the next period is charged. You keep the Pass until the end of the period you've paid for. Apple's help article on cancelling subscriptions has more.

How do I get a refund?

Apple takes the payment, so I can't issue refunds myself. You can ask Apple for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

When does the Daily Print change?

At midnight UTC, the same moment for everyone. In New York that's 8 pm the evening before (7 pm in winter), and in Tokyo 9 am.

The leaderboard ranks fewer moves first, then less time. Your first solve of the day goes to Game Center if you solve it on its own day without a hint. Game Center's own screens show the score as one long number (moves and seconds packed together); the leaderboard inside Foldprint shows it as moves and time.

I don't see leaderboards or achievements.

Sign in to Game Center: on iPhone or iPad in Settings → Game Center, on a Mac in System Settings → Game Center. Foldprint asks when you open a leaderboard, or after any solve except chapter 1's first print. You can play without it.

Does my progress move between my devices?

Yes, if iCloud is on: your stars, solved prints and Daily Print streak sync through your own iCloud account between iPhone, iPad and Mac. Prints you make in the Creator stay on the device where you made them in this version; share them as a code or a file to move them.

How do I share a print I made?

In the Creator, a print the game has solved can be shared as a short code or as a .foldprint file. Anyone with Foldprint can open it and play it for free. Only Creator prints can be shared this way.

Accessibility

Foldprint supports VoiceOver (every cell reads its ink and what the target needs), optional ink marks that tell the colours apart without colour, larger text, Reduce Motion and full keyboard play on the Mac. Tell me if something doesn't work for you.
