Data Not Collected
I'm Abdelrahman Ibrahim, and I make Foldprint on my own. Foldprint collects no data about you. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no tracking, and I don't run any servers it could send anything to. Your progress lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. Game Center and App Store purchases are Apple's services.
Data stored on your device
Your solved prints, stars, moves, Daily Print results and streak, the level you're playing, prints you make in the Creator, and your settings are saved in the app's own storage on your device. I don't receive any of it. Deleting the app deletes this data from that device.
The app never asks for your name, email address, contacts, photos, location or any other personal information, and it contains no third-party code that could collect it.
iCloud sync (Apple)
If you're signed in to iCloud, Foldprint keeps a copy of your progress (solved prints, stars and Daily Print streak) in iCloud key-value storage, so your iPhone, iPad and Mac show the same progress. This data sits in your own iCloud account, handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. I can't see it or read it. You can turn iCloud off for Foldprint in your device's iCloud settings; the game then keeps your progress on each device separately.
Game Center (Apple)
If you're signed in to Game Center, Foldprint sends your result for the day's Daily Print (your moves and time, as one score) to the Daily Print leaderboard when you solve it on its day without a hint, and saves achievements to your Game Center profile. Other players may see your Game Center name and scores, depending on your Game Center settings. Apple handles this data under the Apple Privacy Policy. Game Center is optional: you can play without it and sign out in Settings (on a Mac, System Settings) → Game Center.
Purchases (Apple)
Foldprint Complete and the Pressroom Pass are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and I never see your name, email address or card details. The app uses Apple's StoreKit, on your device, to check what you've bought. Apple sends me sales reports that don't identify anyone. You can manage or cancel the Pass in your Apple Account's subscription settings.
Prints you share
If you share a print from the Creator, as a code or a .foldprint file, you choose where it goes. It contains the print itself and the title you gave it, nothing about you or your device.
Crash reports
If you've turned on Share with App Developers (on iPhone and iPad in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, on a Mac in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send me crash logs and usage statistics for the app. Apple says these reports don't identify you, and you can turn them off at any time.
GitHub issues
Support and privacy questions go through issues on GitHub. Anything you post there, and your GitHub username, is public and handled by GitHub under the GitHub Privacy Statement. I use it only to answer you. Please leave out anything personal; if you posted something you'd like removed, say so in the issue and I'll delete it.
Children
Foldprint is a general-audience puzzle game rated 4+. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included, and shows no ads.
Your choices
- iCloud sync: your device's iCloud settings.
- Game Center: Settings (on a Mac, System Settings) → Game Center.
- Deleting your data: delete the app to remove what it saved on a device. Data in your iCloud account and your Game Center scores and achievements are held by Apple; you can make requests about them at privacy.apple.com. I hold nothing else about you.
Changes
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
